If you have dental insurance, then you have a ticket to good oral health. Are you going to use it?
Try to imagine getting season tickets to see the Broncos, but never going to watch them play. You wouldn’t do that, would you? If you spent the money for the tickets, then you would want to get the full value from them.
If you are paying for dental insurance, but you don’t visit the dentist, you’re losing an opportunity to keep your mouth as healthy as it can be. Fortunately, you still have time to schedule a dental checkup before the end of the year. If you live in or near Highlands Ranch, CO, we hope you will come to see us soon.
You can request an appointment at Highlands Ranch Smiles by calling 720-644-8186.
Get What You’ve Earned
If you have dental insurance through your employer, you can look at your pay stub to see that money is taken out of each paycheck for this.
In other words, you are already paying for dental care. Most dental plans are set up to encourage preventive care, which saves you money on those treatments and can spare you the time and cost treating serious problems. Plans vary, so please check yours for details about what is covered.
With that caveat in mind, most plans will cover most or all of the cost of 1 or 2 cleanings and exams per year. If you never make an appointment, that means you’ve spent part of your salary paying for something you didn’t get.
Don’t lose what you’ve paid for. Most benefits are good for a specified period of time (often a calendar year). If you let the year go without a professional cleaning, you’ve lost that opportunity.
Preventive Care is More Than Worth It
Whether you have dental insurance or not, routine cleanings and exams are invaluable for your long-term oral health.
Even if you are brushing (twice a day, two minutes each time) and flossing (daily) like you should, there is change you can miss some spots, which could lead to plaque and tartar buildup. We’ll remove this when you come in for a professional cleaning, and that will greatly reduce your risk of cavities and gum disease.
As part of your exam, we’ll put technology to use to find any problems that may exist as early as possible. Digital X-rays, the DIAGNOdent cavity detector, and our intraoral cameras give us multiple ways to find decay and gum infections when they easier to treat.
If you don’t have dental insurance, please note that we offer an in-house payment plan that can keep your routine dental costs manageable with your budget.
